Arlene Rita Borromeo founded ARB Productions, Inc. in March 2005. As Co-Director, she is the creator of several ARB properties, including “The Doll”, “The Rooies”, “Bear, Bray and Brumble” and “Canario.” Ms. Borromeo holds a Master of Arts in Teaching in Arts Education from Rhode Island College and Masters Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College. As a field producer and segment coordinator for CBS and NBC television affiliates in Rhode Island, her credits include a 7-year run with a popular news segment featuring artistically gifted children, a project partially funded by a Kennedy Center Grant. Ms. Borromeo’s passion for the arts was appreciated by the Rhode Island educational community and, in 2003, she became Co-Director of The Kennedy Center/National Symphony Summer Institute Scholarship Program in Rhode Island. She also served as a member of the Proficiency Team of the Arts Learning Network, an initiative of the Governor and Board of Regents of the State of Rhode Island. Ms. McFalrand is also serving as the Vice President of Communications for ARB, interfacing with private and public sectors for the corporation.
As Executive Director of the Rhode Island Alliance for Arts Education, a branch of The Kennedy Center for Arts Education Network in Washington, DC, Ms. Borromeo worked for years to ensure that education in all artistic disciplines might be available to all school children in the state.In addition to her work on behalf of Rhode Island school children, she worked for 8 years as an adjunct professor at Newbury College in Boston, Massachusetts, and recently created a new baccalaureate program for them.
